Dear Parents and Dancers,
Welcome to our 19th annual dance recital, Bon Voyage! We are beyond excited to take you on this adventure around the world! This year’s recital promises to be a spectacular journey, filled with energy, creativity, and unforgettable performances. We’ve packed this trip with lots of important details about show times, rehearsal schedules, tickets, T-shirts, recital fees, and so much more—so get ready for takeoff!
Our destination is Bridgewater State University on Sunday, June 7th. We’ll be departing for three exciting shows: 10:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 5:30 PM. We can’t wait to watch all of our dancers take the stage and shine as they travel through this incredible experience!
Dress Rehearsal Boarding Call!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 6th at Bridgewater State University—this is your official pre-departure check before our big trip! This is where all the magic comes together before takeoff. All shows will rehearse together starting at 10:00 AM, and we’ll be traveling straight through our itinerary! We’ll be sending out the full flight schedule as we get closer, but trust us—this journey is going to be AMAZING.
You’ll be able to snap photos and record dances during dress rehearsal—think of it as your travel scrapbook! However, we ask that you please keep all photos and videos to rehearsal only—no recording during the actual recital, so everyone can fully enjoy the live experience.
Recital Fee: $45 per dancer
This all-inclusive ticket covers videography, unlimited pictures, and a 5x7 print for each dancer after the show! Digital downloads will be available for 6 months, so you can revisit your favorite moments from this incredible journey again and again.
Recital
Bridgewater State University 6/07 - The doors to the auditorium open 30 minutes before Showtime. Please be prompt. There will be 3 shows: 10am, 1:30pm and 5:30pm. The 10am show will include our First Steps and Kinder/Combo programs. The 1:30pm show will include all Petite level classes. All Junior and Senior recreational classes will perform in the 5:pm show. All company dances will be spread throughout each show. Please have your dancer arrive 45 minutes prior to the show and ready to perform. Dancers should head back 5 dances prior to their number, and also 5 dances prior to the end of the show to perform in our bows and finale. Theater etiquette is very important. Doors should remain closed and audience should please stay seated while any performance is on stage. Show orders can be found below.
Hair
Pull tightly back in a low bun, with a center part. It is important to use lots of hairpins, gel/hairspray, and even a hair net that coordinates with dancer’s hair color. Headpieces should be secured with bobby pins to the right side of the head (unless otherwise specified) Here is a bun tutorial, but please make bun a little lower.
No underwear or jewelry
Makeup
We require ample makeup as the bright stage lights can make dancers appear washed out. We suggest you give a trial run prior to the big day to make sure you feel comfortable enough with the hairstyle & makeup application. There are many different techniques, so feel free to head to YouTube tutorials and play around to see which way is easiest for you and your dancer.
Last week of classes Monday, 6/16 - Saturday, 6/21 students are welcome to try other dance styles in their age group, or even bring a friend to their class!
